Akemi's top favorite things

1. To climb up the stairs and shimmy all the way down
2. Chase Dior around the house and pull on his hair
3. Being a teaser-- she shares her crackers with Dior and then pulls it away...poor dog
4. Be mommy's helper, loves to clean with the roller thingy

5. Taking baths, she would always crawl to the bathroom and try to climb into the bathtub even though it's not filled with anything. Her new thing is drinking the bath water..she'll dip her chin in.

6. Dance to 'Bee Bop' music --she shakes her butt when she's crawling
7. Watch Oswald on Noggin (Nickelodeon's version for toddlers)
8. Loves to be flipped upside down. You could see all of her little teeth.
9. Eat messy food
10. To always be carried around

As far as advice goes, you're probably getting it by the truckload. Every baby is different and you have to figure out what works for you. I also believe that you have to do whatever you need to do to get some sleep. So while you should try out new methods, if you need to resort to having Akemi sleep with you in order to get some sleep yourself, do it.

Ferber didn't work for us. We'd let him cry it out for 5-10 min and couldn't hang. You'd think that 15 min would be nothing but even 5 minutes is agonizingly slow when you're trying out Ferber. Here's a suggestion. When you're at home alone (and Jonathan is in China), try putting in earplugs when you sleep on a Friday or Saturday night. That way you don't have to worry about the alarm and you'll sleep through Akemi's crying but you should hear her if it gets really bad. Because what worked for us was when our baby monitor died in the middle of the night and we couldn't hear Austin's soft crying. That's when he started sleeping through the night. Dunno, worth a shot (even if it may seem tough).

Thanks for the great time at your place. We got to see Akemi shimmy down the stairs, pull Austin's hair, push the roller, etc. Debbie was saying that we need to do more play-dates!
